Quince Orchard Stays Perfect, Handles Churchill 34–13
POTOMAC, MD – October 3, 2025 —The Quince Orchard Cougars kept their undefeated run alive with a 34-13 win over the Churchill Bulldogs in Friday night’s matchup of 4A Montgomery County heavyweights.
Both teams entered the game unbeaten, but Quince Orchard proved again why they sit among Maryland’s elite. The Cougars’ defense smothered Churchill’s rushing attack, holding them to less than a yard per carry while the offense steadily built momentum after halftime

First-Half Battle
The opening quarters were tight. Churchill’s defense held firm early, forcing Quince Orchard to earn every yard. Quarterback Will Drakeford set the tone with his dual-threat play — breaking tackles on key runs and spreading the field through the air.
By halftime, the Cougars led narrowly, but it was clear their physicality up front was wearing the Bulldogs down.
On the defensive side, Nolan McHugh, David Skopec, and Bryan Ngouzo each recorded a sack, with Skopec also forcing a fumble and tallying 10 total tackles. Ngouzo made plays on both sides of the ball, adding a forced fumble and six tackles to his receiving numbers.
Cougars Take Control
In the second half, Quince Orchard’s offense exploded.

Drakeford threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and added 83 rushing yards with a rushing score on 11 carries.

Churchill’s Effort
Despite the loss, Churchill’s Bryan Ngouzo turned in an impressive all-around night — hauling in two touchdown catches for 96 yards, adding a sack, forced fumble, and six tackles. Quarterback Hunter Humphries passed for 131 yards but was under constant pressure from the Cougars’ front seven.
What’s Next
The win pushes Quince Orchard to 5-0, keeping them in the state championship conversation and climbing in regional rankings. Churchill drops to 4-1 but remains one of the county’s toughest teams heading into the final stretch.
