Energy in the Building

The atmosphere never dipped.

Seed’s fans stayed loud from tip to buzzer.

  • Bench energy stayed high

  • Crowd stayed engaged every possession

  • Momentum fed off that noise

Even when the game tightened early, the support didn’t fade.

And the city showed up.

Khaled Al-Mateen Showed Why He’s Baltimore City’s Best

Khaled Al-Mateen played like the best player on the floor.

The Baltimore City Player of the Year led Seed with 24 points, and he did it under pressure.

Early foul trouble could have shifted the game.

It didn’t.

He stayed composed and delivered.

  • Attacked the rim

  • Finished through contact

  • Knocked down timely shots

He went 2-of-6 from three, but those makes came at key moments and forced the defense to respect him.

OK3Sports could see why he earned Baltimore City Player of the Year honors.

He controlled the pace when it mattered most.

Brandon Scott was in attendance, supporting the program and adding to the moment. Seeing that level of support during a state championship run meant something for this group.

For a small school with around 200 students, it felt much bigger inside the gym.

Turning Point

Seed came out of halftime locked in.

  • Stops early in the third quarter

  • Transition offense created easy points

  • Execution stayed consistent

Coach Ed Green:

“We always try to start the third quarter with stops. Once we get those stops, we build momentum.”

Coach Green: Five-Year Build Pays Off

This moment was years in the making.

“This is my fifth year. We’ve been building this for five years. Last year we lost by three in overtime. Getting back here took focus.”
  • Small school

  • Around 200 students

  • Tight group

“We believed in ourselves. We stayed together.”

This marks the first state title in program history.

DeAhntae Terry: Playing Through Loss

For DeAhntae Terry, this win carried real emotion.

“My grandmother passed during the playoffs. I told myself nothing was going to stop me from winning.”

That mindset showed late.

No hesitation. No drop in effort.

Brotherhood Built This

This group stayed together and it showed.

  • Film sessions

  • Team meals

  • Daily work

“We see each other every day. That bond shows on the court.”

They carried that same energy everywhere they played.

Closing

Even late, the focus never shifted.

“I never felt like we had it won. We stayed locked in.”

Five years of work.

One result.

State champions.
