Springfield 19, Fairmont 14
TayVeon Smoot rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns as Springfield beat Fairmont 19-14.
TayVeon Smoot put the Wildcats on the board first with a 3-yard rushing touchdown. Raheim Moss added a 59-yard TD run for the Wildcats.
Jesse Deglow scored Fairmont’s first TD on a 4-yard run, Deglow also scored on a 38-yard run late in the second.
Firebirds led 14-13 at halftime
In the fourth quarter, Rasheim Moss handed off to TayVeon Smoot that turned into the game-winning 12-yard touchdown run as Springfield pulled out a 19-14 victory, to advance to the regional semifinal.
The Wildcats moved to 9-2 with the victory and will face Hilliard Davidson on Friday night, while Firebirds ended the season 7-4.
