Judson 69, San Benito 18

Judson dominated San Benito on the road 69-18 in the Class 6A Division I region playoffs to advance to the quarterfinals and a rematch with Lake Travis.

The Rockets totaled more than 614 total yards and controlled the clock for most of the game, including holding San Benito to zero touchdowns in the first half.

UTSA commit Sincere McCormick ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns. McCormick scored on runs of 29, 60 and 64 yards.

QB Michael Chandler II led Rockets with 238 passing yards and two touchdowns on 7-of-13 passing. Anthony Shelton was his favorite target, catching three passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Chandler also scored on a run of 30 yards.

Joewel Crawford returned an interception for 24 yards for the first TD of the game.

Rockets De’Anthony Lewis ran for 68 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.

Kevin Wood Jr. led the defense with nine total tackles, followed by Jayden Clouds with eight total tackles. DeMarvin Leal finished with six total tackles.

The Greyhounds struggled on offense all game but managed to get in the end zone late in the third quarter on Friday, QB Jacob Cavazos connected with Kyler Castilleja on a 19-yard TD pass.  Cavazos also scored on runs of 17 and 28 yards.

The Judson Rockets improved to 12-0 with the victory and will advance to the fourth round of the playoffs in face Lake Travis on Saturday at the Alamodome, while San Benito dropped to 8-5 to end the 2018 season.
