The 2019 San Antonio high school football season kicked off across the city on Thursday night. 

OK3Sports was there for all the action as the Clark Cougars and Churchill Chargers competed for the annual Gucci Bowl on Aug 28, 2019 at Dub Ferris Stadium.

The Chargers continued their Gucci Bowl winning streak to 10 in a row by a score of 19-0.  

This was the 35th Gucci Bowl dating back to 1984. MVP Chargers #11 Gavin Castro had two key interceptions.

Churchill’s RB #17 Dominic Tellis gets the first touchdown on a 5 yard carry with the extra point by #39 Angelo Del Cid.

The Chargers picked up a safety in the third quarter by a high snap missed in the endzone and expand their lead to 9-0. Angelo Del Cid kicks a 29 yard field goal. Tellis picks up another touchdown late in the 4’th to end the game with 33 seconds left.

The Churchill Chargers will travel to Corpus Christi to take on the Veterans Memorial Eagles next Friday. The Clark Cougars will attempt to get the firat win of the season when they meet up with John Jay Mustangs in San Antonio next Friday.
