Brandeis 33, Hanna 32

Sophomore QB Jordan Battles accounted for five touchdowns to lead Brandeis to the semifinals, defeating Hanna in the Region Class 6A Division II playoff game.

Broncos trailed 32-27 midway thru the fourth quarter. Battles connected with Brandon Pake for the game winner, a nine-yard touchdown pass with 3:52 remaining, that was enough for the win.

Hanna led at the halftime 20-7.

In the third quarter, Jordan Battles made plays with his legs. Battles ran for 169 yards on 19 carries and scored on runs of 35 and five yards.

Golde Eagles scored at the top of the 4th expanding the lead to 32-20, the Broncos rallied and scored twice.  Jordan Battles had a 34-yard touchdown pass to Josh Suarez, then followed that with the game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Pake.

The sophomore QB Battles finished the night by going 9-of-17 through the air for 164 yards and three touchdowns.

The Brandeis Broncos improved to 11-2 with the victory and will advance to the semifinals of the playoffs in face Westlake Chaparrals on Saturday, while Hanna dropped to 10-2 to end the 2018 football season.
