Upper Marlboro, MD — The Wise Pumas continued their strong 2025 campaign with a commanding 38–6 win over the Suitland Rams on Friday night. The home crowd witnessed an efficient offensive performance led by senior quarterback Eric Wedge III and a lockdown defensive unit that set the tone early and never let up.
Wedge commands the offense with precision
Senior quarterback Eric Wedge III led the Pumas with an accurate passing night, going 13-for-20 for 261 yards and two touchdowns. Wedge’s poise in the pocket and quick reads kept the Rams’ defense off balance throughout the game. His 60-yard touchdown strike to Sergio Torrico in the second quarter gave Wise full control and energized the home sideline.
Parker powers through on the ground
Senior running back Kameron Parker delivered another complete performance, rushing for 110 yards on 12 carries and adding 77 receiving yards — totaling 187 all-purpose yards and one touchdown. Parker’s mix of speed and power made him difficult to contain, consistently breaking through tackles and extending drives.
Torrico, Reed, and Early find the end zone
Sergio Torrico had a standout performance with 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, including that 60-yard deep connection from Wedge. Xavier Reed added another touchdown grab on a 20-yard play across the middle, while Ashton Early punched in a red zone score to extend Wise’s lead. Bryce Ballard contributed a two-point conversion to cap one of the Pumas’ drives.
Defense sets the tone with takeaways
The Wise defense was relentless, holding Suitland to just six points. Junior linebacker Theodore Riley led the charge with five total tackles. Keon Elder and Landon Cooper both recorded interceptions, with Cooper returning his pick 45 yards to set up another Wise touchdown. Senior defenders Dante Gayle and Wayne Agnew added key stops in the trenches, combining for multiple tackles for loss.
Team effort and momentum building
Wise controlled both sides of the ball, finishing with 413 total yards — 261 through the air and 152 on the ground. Every unit contributed, from the offensive line’s protection to the defensive secondary’s discipline. The victory improves the Pumas’ momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
